Editorial Reviews

Jimmy Carter is an American Icon, recording over 30 albums with The Blind Boys of Alabama, founded in 1939. Jimmy is a Co-founder and the last original member of The Blind Boys of Alabama. They have won five Grammy Awards, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, a National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and were inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Jimmy and The Blind Boys of Alabama have recorded and performed with artists such as Prince, Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, Bonnie Raitt, Ben Harper and many other national and international artists. This is Jimmy Carter's first solo album, teaming up with song writer, producer and performer Ron Pullman. Together, Jimmy and Ron have created a musical masterpiece by pulling from Jimmy's musical roots and the many genres that Jimmy is passionate about, while keeping a Gospel message in all the songs. Jimmy and Ron called on many of their friends such as Charlie Musselwhite, Alan Parsons, The Mendelson Choir of Pittsburgh, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, just to name a few, to record on "Blind Faith". Jimmy's vocals are masterfully performed from 80 years of singing for his millions of fans. "This is a beautifully performed, written, and produced piece of musical history. "Not only is Jimmy Carter a great singer and entertainer, he's always deep...as deep as it gets... so deep he'll stir your heart and soul." -- Charlie Musselwhite

    Frampton Court, Sleeps 14 - 16, Cotswolds

The summer sound of leather hitting willow creates a very English feel in Frampton on Severn. Around the village green, the longest in England, cruck cottages cluster with Tudor and Georgian homes. It’s a place of marrow-judging and hoopla at the summer fete, of cask ale in the country pubs, Morris dancers, and bell ringing on Sundays.

In the heart of the community sits Frampton Court, sleeping 16 and looking exactly like a Cotswolds murder-mystery evening. It’s stoic and stately, aristocratic and Georgian. But a historic Bath-stone outside hides a whole household of fun inside. Get together, invade, make the spaces your own, get the coffee and Netflix on.

Clack the pool balls around in the games room, find a film in the cinema room, sing along with the Bose sound system, stream the BT wifi, tinkle the piano keys. Raid Stroud Farmers’ Market for local veg, meat, fish and honey, pile it into the American fridge-/freezer (or additional freezer in the lader) and turn it into family fuel on the Everhot with four electric ovens.

Walk the landscaped acres, watch the geese graze among the willows, cook marshmallows around the firepit, play croquet and cricket on the lawns. Eat beneath the chandelier in the oak-panelled dining room, snooze in front of burning logs, inhale the aroma of burnished wood, sleep in ‘The White Company’ linen, live a different life.
